There's no wall on the Iowa-Minnesota border

There's no wall on the Iowa-Minnesota border. And that's a good thing, for people and wildlife. Human made barriers are self imposed errors in our moral obligation to be stewards of wild creatures. Scientists have show the immediate deleterious effects to wildlife in Europe as concertina wire fences and other impediments were put up since the refugee crisis began in 2015.

This clever site from the Minnesota DNR helps citizen scientists report black bear sightings. The several reports in SE Minnesota buoy my confidence that bruins are certainly cruising Iowa for stretches.

Because black bears in Iowa can be shot for any reason, a website like this would be a bad idea. I look forward to the day when we can host such an opportunity for our citizens to catalog such biological excitement.
